MBA:
|
In May of 2007, I completed my Masters of
Business Administration at the University
of South Florida. My specializations are Finance, Marketing,
and Entrepreneurship.
I have been exposed to Strategic Business Planning and Analysis (IBA), Managerial Accounting, Financial
Accounting, Marketing Management, Macro and Micro Economics, Business Ethics, Organizational
Behavior, Operations Management, Finance, International Finance,
Strategic Market Assessment, Business Plan Writing, and New Venture
Formation, and a few others. This
program is heavily team-oriented, as every class (besides econ) has
required group interaction.
During my first year, I won a $300 prize for the 4th Annual Business
Department's Graduate Student Ethics Essay Contest. Below is a
shot of me with USF's College of Business's Dean Robert Anderson.
This was the topic:
Write an essay that outlines the elements of ethical leadership in the
business context and analyze barriers to ethical leadership. What are
some of the corporate governance issues involved?

Real World Experience:
|
| I am currently a Senior Software Engineer with
bSquare, a small cap
software company operating out of Bellevue, WA focused on consulting as
a Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Embedded XP, etc... developer and
vendor. This provides me with the corporate mentality one needs
while managing large software projects involving many groups and
coordination. I am not a project manager however, as I develop
code, but one does learn a lot by being involved.
In working at Alcorn
McBride, I was exposed to many sides of the business work,
mainly focusing on project management and customer relations. In keeping the R&D
Engineers on the support lines with customers, having weekly business
meetings with sales, sending us to industry tradeshows and on-site
installations, such as at Disney, Alcorn keeps its engineers very aware
of the business needs of the company. I was frequently involved in the company's marketing efforts as well, due
to my strong background in graphics.

Executive Management & Leadership Experience:
|
|
I am the President and Founder of oiKnow, Inc., a startup venture to
explore opportunities in the emerging cell phone market. We own
and manage the intellectual properties of Personal
Memory Systems and Phone-Tag.com.
|
Sole Proprietorship Experience:
|
|
For performing programming consulting, website development, and
illustrating various books and such for customers, until recently I had a licensed
sole proprietorship in my name in the state of Florida. This allowed me to learn more about business management, taxes, sales, etc...

As I am involved in various projects I find some may be interesting to

Ever wonder about the Financial
Aspects of Comic Book Self-Publishing? Those who know Finance will
find this an interesting peak into the world of comic books. Those
interested in publishing and promoting their own comic book will find
this to be an insightful reference of all the Financial aspects that go
into creating a comic book, when it loses money, and when it makes
money. Based on two real small presses, values from Val
Staples, and quotes from real print houses, the Financial
models used in this analysis have been created with Excel. If you
ever want to run the models with your numbers, just email
